Parasitism

The other day a cattle egret killed a grazing cow.

It stabbed its beak into it's eye 

slowly watched it die.

A hollowed tree fell, 

trapped an owl.

It shook and howled. 

When will they learn,

they are all parasites. 

As are we,

leaches to the earth,

other animals,

ourselves.

Suspect your friends,

expect them to blend,

one person,

or another.

We are all parasites.

Just ask your mother.
